Coronavirus Update

We ask that all parents be very cautious as the Coronavirus continues to spread in Ireland, with a number of new cases being confirmed in the country today. Please ensure your children know how to wash their hands correctly. Teachers will continue to conduct lessons on this. Soap and water is sufficient. Ensure your children wash their hands well before coming to school. They will be reminded regularly throughout the school day to wash their hands. Please remind them to cough/sneeze into their elbow, not their hands. If your child or someone your child has been in close contact with displays symptoms, please keep your child at home and seek medical advice. Staff are being asked to do the same. If you have travelled from an affected area, please self isolate. The Department of Health have advised that no unnecessary travel to an affected area be undertaken. If it is essential and you must travel, please inform the school of your travel plans. It is our responsibility to protect our pupils as best we can. We will be reviewing all planned internal and external school events and will be making a decision on whether or not these should proceed on a case by case basis. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Turning of the Sod Ceremony

There was great excitement this week as we had a momentous day in Scoil Náisiúnta Bhaile Chláir na Gaillimhe. The first sod was turned on the school’s exciting new building project. The ceremony took place on our new site and was attended by excited pupils from Junior Infants along with their class teachers Ms. Moylan and Ms. O’ Brien, Rev. Canon Ian O’ Neill, Chairperson, Mr. Phillip Cribbin, Acting Principal Ms. Sheila Hession and the building contractors. Building has now commenced and we are really looking forward to the opening of our new school!
