Rang An t-Uasal Ó Dálaigh / Mr. Daly's Class
Gardaí Converge on Mr. Daly’s Classroom
On Friday the 19th of April an emergency call was placed with the Gardaí using the 999 emergency number ( we could also have used the 112 emergency number). An incident had taken place in our Senior Infants room and was of such a serious nature that three Gardaí showed up. Sergeant Stan and Gardaí Tricia and Darina arrived in their latest, state of the art crime fighting vehicle.
On their arrival, a number of children were drafted in to support the Gardaí and badges and uniforms were issued.
A number of arrests were made, including Mr. Daly, to the delight of all those involved. He was of course later found innocent, his only crime being that he wanted to give homework to the children. On a Friday!!!!!!!!
So many other arrests were made that it became a bit of a squash in the Garda car. It was noted by the Gardaí that they had never witnessed such happy criminals before.
In the end the whole incident was resolved with a statement issued saying that it was just a big misunderstanding. Sergeant Stan then spoke to the children about road safety, safety in the car and many of the other ways that the Gardaí help us. He answered their questions as best he could with the help of Garda Tricia and Garda Darina. He also handed out a few goodies to the children and it is safe to say that everyone had a wonderful time.
Thank you so much to our visiting Gardaí. We learned a great deal while still having loads of fun!!!
