Grandparent's Day 2019
What a wonderful time we had on Wednesday, January 30th. As part of Catholic Schools week, the Grandparents were invited to come and visit us in our school. There was great excitement as our visitors arrived. The grandparents made their way to the classrooms to visit their grandchildren and to listen to some music and to see the wonderful work they have been doing with their teachers. The grandparents shared lots of great stories and memories from their childhood and their memories of school, which all the children thoroughly enjoyed listening to. It was a really happy and enjoyable occasion for all!

Autumn Scarecrows
Autumn is a wonderful time, when the leaves are changing their colours to create a beautiful autumnal atmosphere. One sure sign of Autumn is the appearance of scarecrows in the surrounding countryside to help keep the crows away from the farmer's crops. The children decorated and cut out the different parts of their scarecrow. Next, they assembled the pieces together to create these happy scarecrows!

Our Mondrian Inspired Art Display
This week we learned about the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian.
Mondrian’s style consisted of geometric shapes and the use of primary colours. Using an outline of their chosen animal, the children drew straight horizontal and vertical black lines and coloured in the shapes using the primary colours - red, yellow and blue, to create these beautiful pieces!
